A Chicago-based photographer and filmmaker, Austin Damisi launched Damisi Multi in 2016. Exposed to cameras from an early age through his uncle, award-winning photojournalist Matt Goins, Austin became intrigued by the storytelling opportunities cameras provide.
He explored his newfound craft throughout high school while serving as his school's photographer, capturing student life, sports and events for the school's award-winning annual. As a senior, he began filming his web-docuseries "Faces In A Crowd," documenting inspiring people he encountered in urban life.
Austin's experiences include serving as staff photographer and videographer for annual events like iFest and Terri's Race, and official photographer for proms and graduations. Studio and portrait experience include baby and maternity shoots, and currently assisting while learning the ropes in wedding photography.
In addition to photography, he is also an experienced writer. He has written a handful of short stories centered around original characters, and in the summer of 2018 will be collaborating with artist Omar Ortiz on an innovative comic strip series. Austin just completed the screenplay for his upcoming short film "One Day." Cast and crew are in place with shooting scheduled for late summer 2018-with the goal being to take the film to the Sundance Film Festival in 2020.
Ultimately, Austin's goal is to build a reputation by producing work of the highest caliber while experimenting with innovative methods of storytelling, and he is excited to collaborate with you on your project.
